The
duck pond at Bear Creek Pioneers Park Wildlife Habitat is home to both wild and domestic waterfowl.
Found at the pond are Pekin,
Muscovy, and Mallard ducks and wild geese. The Pekin is a domestic
breed of plain white ducks, while the Muscovy is multi-colored and distinguished
by red facial markings. The Mallards are a wild waterfowl. The male has a
distinct green head, while the female is brown. Ducks do not need much in the way of housing.
They only need shelter from the worst wind and weather.
