Goose PhotoEgyptian Goose

The duck pond at Bear Creek Pioneers Park Wildlife Habitat is home to both wild and domestic waterfowl. Pictured is a domestic goose and Egyptian goose.

Domestic breeds of geese do not fly. However, they have been known to clear a 4-5 foot fence if they get a running start and have a tail wind.

Geese do not need much in the way of housing. They only need shelter from the worst wind and weather. Their down feathers keep them very well insulated.
