Ray Miller was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended public schools there and later attended Baylor University and the University of Houston. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service in both World War II and the Korean War. He worked in broadcast news for more than 50 years before he joined the Precinct 3 staff in 1990. Miller was news director for KPRC TV, Channel 2, in Houston for 20 years. He created the long-running TV program “The Eyes of Texas” and hosted it until he retired from KPRC TV. He subsequently produced a series of features called “Ray Miller’s Texas” with Nathan Kvinge for KHOU TV, Channel 11. He has written ten books about Texas. Mr. Miller also worked, at different times, for KPRC Radio and KTRH Radio in Houston and KFJZ Radio in Fort Worth. The Texas Association of Broadcasters named him Pioneer Broadcaster of the Year when he retired. Ray Miller remains one of the most beloved and respected public figures in Texas. As the Special Projects Manager for Commissioner Radack, Mr. Miller continues to inspire his colleagues and enlighten the public. |
