American Shooting Centers

The American Shooting Centers (ASC), located in George Bush Park, is a world-class facility encompassing 564 acres.  The ASC is open to the public and has three different ranges.  The Rifle and Pistol range is open daily.  The Sporting Clays and Trap & Skeet ranges are open Wednesday through Sunday only.  The facility is located in Barker Reservoir and operates through a concession agreement with Harris County.

The ASC has hosted several popular special events, namely the Browning Bailey World Open for the third year in a row and the 1997 US Open Sporting Clay events. The ASC was scheduled to host the Olympics if Houston had been awarded the games for the year 2012.

The ASC complex includes three different types of shooting ranges, three pro shops, three restroom buildings, an air-conditioned pavilion, a classroom where hunter education classes are taught and more.

Currently employing sixty people and managed by Mr. Bill Bacon, retired colonel, the ASC enjoys a thriving business.
