This is the first dog park in the Harris County park system.  It is on Westheimer Parkway in George Bush Park.  It occupies 15 acres and includes three small lakes.  The park was developed with the advice and assistance of the Houston Dog Park Association and the operators of some of the older dog parks in other cities.  The parking lot at the dog park has spaces for 100 vehicles, double its original size.   This park has been very popular and Commissioner Radack opened a second dog park in October 2005.
