Precinct Three is one of four precincts in Harris County, Texas. The following information may be helpful in understanding Precinct Three:

    • 319 square miles in unincorporated areas of Harris County

    • 145 square miles in incorporated areas of Harris County

    • Precinct includes some of the most rural agricultural parts of the county and some of the most densely urban parts of the county

  • ALL SIX (6) of the following major cities could fit within Precinct Three's geographical boundaries
    • Baltimore: 80.8 square miles

    • Boston: 48.6 square miles

    • Denver: 154.6 square miles

    • Miami: 34.5 square miles

    • San Francisco: 45.2 square miles

    • Washington, D.C.: 61.4 square miles

  • Approximately 1,500 miles of roads and 18,000 feet of bridges are maintained by the Precinct's Road and Bridge Division

  • Vehicles and power equipment valued at over $15,000,000 are maintained by the Precinct's Fleet Services Division

  • 36 parks and three (3) hike and bike trails covering over 12,000 acres of land are operated and maintained by the Precinct's Parks Division.

  • Our 6 community centers have over 300,000 visitors annually.

  • Seven (7) independent school districts provide elementary and secondary education services in Precinct Three.  Two (2) community college systems have campuses in the Precinct.  Residents have easy access to numerous private and state universities, law schools, and medical schools.  In addition, the Precinct operates an award winning education center for senior citizens in cooperation with area non-profit organizations and universities. 

  • Harris County is the 3rd largest county in the United States, covering 1,788 square miles.  With 3,400,578 residents, it is more populous than 21 states and includes Houston, Texas, the 4th largest city in the United States.
